Edna Lois Sircey

Leicester - Edna Lois Sircey, 91, of 2583 New Leicester Highway died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at the Mountain Area Hospice. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She retired in 1975 from American Enka Corp. after 40 years of service. She was a member of Newfound Baptist Church and a member of the American Enka Pioneer Club. Mrs. Sircey was the daughter of the late Pleas Dan Israel and Bessie Penley Israel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sircey who died in 1985 and her daughter, Freda H. Riddle and grand daughter, Katie Riddle who both died in 1957. Surviving are her cousins, Margie Robinson and Billy Sluder; niece, Kathy Moore and her husband, Gary; very special friend and caregiver, Marie Rickard. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Phillips and Rev. Troy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Floyd Rickard, Wade Allison, Roger Wells, Gordon Revis, David Snelson and John Smith.
