Edna Alma Warren

March 23, 1916 — March 17, 2005

Asheville - Edna Alma Jones Warren, 88, went to be with her Lord Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Aston Park Health Care following an extended illness. A native of Yancey County. Mrs. Warren resided most of life in Buncombe County prior to moving to Cleveland, Tennessee for two years, then moving to Crestline, Ohio in 1996 where she resided until returning to Asheville in 1999. She was formerly employed for 27 years with Mayflower Cleaners and was a member of The United Christian Church in Asheville. Mrs. Warren was a daughter of the late Edgar Paul Jones and Zenia Melton Jones and wife of Elmer Otto Warren who died in 1977. She was also preceded in death by a son, Elmer Eugene Warren; daughter, Rosalee Warren Waycaster and grandson, Donald Richard Warren. Surviving are her sons, Donald Warren and wife, Ann of Cleveland, Tennessee and John Warren and wife, Evetta of Asheville; daughter in law, Katherine Warren of Asheville;sister, Laura Evans of Atlanta, Georgia; special friend, Susie McElrath of Asheville; 10 grandchildren, including Carmen Diane Rulka and Patricia Halberstadt of which she raised as her daughters; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home chapel with the Revs Jim Maynor, John Warren, Leonard Cole and Gene Parrom officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at 15 Rex Drive in Asheville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Aston Park Health Care for their years of care for Mrs. Warren.
