Edith Sales Grant

Fairview - Edith Sales Grant, 92, of 118 Reeds Creek Rd. died Monday, March 1, 2004 at Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Laurel Pines Baptist Church. Mrs. Grant was the daughter of the late Prince and Theodosia Spivey Sales and was the wife of the late Sherman Grant who died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Denver Grant, Sr. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Dotson and husband Roby of Swannanoa; daughter-in-law, Betty Grant of Fairview; grandchildren, Donna Clayton and husband Barry and Doris Garris and husband LaBaron all of Asheville, Pamela Atkinson and husband James of Fairview, Tamela Mitchell and husband Mark of Atlanta, Denver Grant, Jr. and wife Linda of Novato, CA, Robert Grant and wife Teresa of Hendersonville; 9 great grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, 3 great great grandsons, 5 great great granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Wednesday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bob Carter and James Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Thursday in Cane Creek Cemetery.
