Eddie Maxwell

Candler –Eddie Maxwell, 76, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, September 13, 2024, at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Charles Andrew Maxwell and Alma Marie Conner Allen and stepson of the late Benson Allen whom Eddie considered to be his father. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Banks; and sister, Darlene Channel.

Eddie spent many years on the road as a long-haul truck driver until he could no longer work, but he always missed his time behind the wheel. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, and a Past Master of Biltmore Lodge #446 AF& AM. He loved his family, his church family, friends, and his Masonic brothers, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Diane Maxwell; children: Jonathan Maxwell (Karol), Lisa Wilson (Ronnie), and Katie Robinson (Bryan); grandchildren: Dustin Maxwell (Jordan), Tanner Wilson (Amanda), Katelyn Wilson, Christian Maxwell, Landon Wilson, and Kinsley Robinson; great-grandchildren: Abel, Braydon, Savannah, Lazarus, and one on the way, Brooks; sisters: Jean Brown, and Sandra Maxwell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 6 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2024, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Lindsay officiating. Masonic Funeral Honors will be provided by the Biltmore Lodge #446 AF&AM.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 5:45 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
