Eddie Baker

May 26, 1944 — February 2, 2015

Asheville Eddie Gean Baker, 70, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2015 at the St Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Yancey County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life and retired as Plant Manager of Adams Old Castle following 53 years of service and was a member of the Land of Sky Bass Masters since 1977. Mr. Baker was the son of the late William Dewey Baker and Lucy Jane Waycaster Baker and husband of Lucille Teddi Maxwell Baker who died January 4, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Dewey Lee Baker and Arvil Baker; and sisters: Velvie Smith and Thelma Honeycutt. Surviving are his children: Lisa Lawwill and Robyn Carambot and husband Daniel all of Asheville and Traci Robertson and husband Brandon of Old Fort; grandson and fishing partner, Tyler Lawwill and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Cedar Mountain Baptist Church, Fairview, with Rev. Jimmy Page officiating. Burial will follow in Skyview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
