Dr. Robert Frederic Borgman

Candler - Dr. Robert Frederic Borgman, 81, died Saturday October 6, 2007 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center. Born in Bridgeport, CT. on March 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Albert Frederic and Marie Ericson Borgman. He was a graduate of Bassick High School, Bridgeport, CT., Michigan State Veterinary School, Lansing, MI with honors, PH.D. from Kansas State University and a member of the faculty of Clemson University, Clemson, SC for 27 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had resided in Buncombe County since 1987 and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lucille Rusty Borgman of the home; children, Mary Alice Brown of Pendleton, SC, Hannah Marie Curti of Dalton, GA, Albert Frederic Daniel Borgman of Minot, ND and Karl Nathan James Borgman of Mebane, NC and five grandchildren, Samantha Garrett, Rachel Borgman, Kristi Borgman, Nathan Borgman and Sean Curti. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael McFarland officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Christ Church Cemetery, Kildare Capes, Alberton, Prince Edward Island, Canada at a later date.
