Dot Mashburn Hoss

Asheville - Deorthea Ann Dot Mashburn Stuart Hoss, 67, of 118 Benson Road, Passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at her home following a long illness. A native of Haywood County, she had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly employed as a CNA at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center and was a member of Pisgah View Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Pearl Rector Mashburn. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Lonnie, Lewis and Emmit Mashburn. Surviving are her husband, Harold Leroy Hoss of the home; six sons: Douglas Stuart of Oak Ridge, TN, Dwayne Stuart and wife Mary of Black Mountain, Donald Stuart and wife Ann of Leicester, Kenneth Stuart and wife Cheryl of Asheville, Harmon Hoss and wife Molly of Asheville, and James Hoss and wife Becky of Candler; three daughters: Karen Stuart Rowe and husband Jimmy of Oteen, Catherine Hoss of Candler, and Melody Sexton and husband Kenneth of Candler; her sister, Frances Stewart of Asheville; five brothers: Gene Mashburn of Georgia, Bob Mashburn and wife Frances of Asheville, JD Mashburn and wife Evelyn of Clairmont, NC, Richard Mashburn and wife Meritta of Fletcher, and Leon Mashburn and wife Ann of Weaverville; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Donati, Rev. Billy Taylor, and Rev. Steve Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday at the funeral home.
