Alexander Dorothy Dot Mae Thompson Hawkins, 80, of Bossier City, LA and formerly of Alexander, went to be with her Lord, Friday, February 24, 2006 at Cornerstone Hospital in Bossier City, LA. A native of Spartanburg, SC and a resident of Buncombe County most of her life. Mrs. Hawkins retired in January of 1980, following 30 years of service, from the National Climatic Center where she was a Weather Technician. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the daughter of the late Carl Lloyd Thompson and Mary Sue McGraw Thompson. She was the wife of Uyless Napolean Hawkins who died in January 15, 2005. Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Judy Hawkins Dillingham and Mike Dillingham of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren, Joy Lewis and husband, Nathan and Jill Hines and husband, Ronnie; great grandchildren, Chase, Joshua, Devan Claire and Julia Grace. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. James Johnson and Rev. Worth Emory officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3p.m. Monday at the funeral home and at other times the family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. C.F. Dillingham, 506 Gorman Bridge Rd., Asheville.
