Dorothy Joan Richmond

Fletcher Dorothy Joan Torrence Richmond, 78, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at her daughters residence in Warner Robins, Georgia. A native and resident most of her life of Buncombe County. She retired from Christ School where she served as a Dietician and was a member of Sweeten Creek F.W. Baptist Church where she was a former Preschool Teacher. Mrs. Richmond was a daughter of the late Ralph Torrence and Minnie Lee Emory Torrence Jones and wife of Elmer N. Richmond who died December 4, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her step father, James Willard Jones; daughter, Sandra M. Derden; sister, Betty Carland and brothers, Billy, Buddy and Herbert Torrence. Surviving are her daughter, Jane D. Taylor of Warner Robins, GA; son, James D. Richmond of Fletcher, step sons, Robert N. Richmond of Louisiana, MO, Gerald E. Richmond and Jimmy D. Richmond both of Doniphan, MO; step daughters, Bonnie Lee Wilson and Ina Mae Crockett both of Doniphan, MO; sisters, Louise Baker of Jacksonville Beach, FL and Lillian Moore of Fletcher and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. James Stroupe and Rev. Nathaniel Drake officiating.
