Dorothy Bell Ashe

Asheville - Dorothy Christine Elliott Bell Ashe, 89, passed away Thursday November 26, 2009 at the WNC Baptist Retirement Home. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hendersonville and a former member of Westwood Baptist Church in Asheville. She was a daughter of the late Wade and Pauline Roberts Elliott and the wife of the late Richard Charles Bell, Sr. and William Ashe. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Marie K. Bell. Surviving are her son, Richard C. Bell, Jr. of Candler; daughter, Marsha B. Lynch and husband Lloyd of Asheville; brother, Wade Elliott of Asheville; sister, Barbara June Waldrop of Melbourne, FL; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Dodson and Mr. Dale Evans officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
