Doris Shelton Harwood

Doris Shelton Harwood, 71, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation in Mars Hill. A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ruby Roberts Shelton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lawrence Harwood who passed away March 19, 2003. Surviving are her sons: Gerald L. Harwood and wife Lisa of Mars Hill, and Roger D. Harwood and wife Cindy of Old Fort; grandchildren: Scott, Robin, Hannah, and Ivy Harwood; sister, Irene Whitt of Weaverville; brothers: Charles Shelton and wife Orenda of Mars Hill, and John Shelton and wife Lena of Mars Hill; and by several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Monday, April 21, 2014, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. David Blackwelder and Steve Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 till 4 PM Monday at the funeral home. A Video Tribute will be available for a limited time. Click Here
