Doris Redden "Dot" Buckner

September 19, 1936 — May 31, 2002

Asheville - Doris Dot Redden Buckner, 65, of 11 Ben Lippen Road, died Friday May 31, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a retired private duty LPN, a member of Harvest Time Assembly, the church choir and the Western N.C. C.B. Club with the handle Little Dot. She was a daughter of the late James Arthur and Ester King Redden. Surviving are her husband, Donald Elbert Buckner of the home; sons, David E. Redden and special friend, Kathy Owenby and James Elbert Buckner and wife, Karlya all of Asheville; daughter, Joyce Ogles and husband, Gary of Mills River; grandchildren, Vanna, James and Anne Buckner and Sara, Ben and Steven Ogles; several nieces and nephews including, Anna Dell McKinney. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Revs. Darrell McClaren and Chuck Waldrup officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
