Doris Emory

Asheville - Doris Frances Emory, 91, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Emory retired from the Hot Shot Caf, where she worked for 32 years as a waitress and grill cook. She was a member of Oakley Baptist Church. Mrs. Emory was the daughter of the late James Walter Davis, Sr., and Beulah Frances Stroupe Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William James Emory, who passed away in 1974. Surviving are her sons: Raymond Moore, Grady Baldwin, Charles Melton, and George Melton; daughters: Ruby Banks and Peggy Sue McKinney; sister, Mary Katherine Moss; brother, Harry Bobby Davis; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
