Doris Capps Temples

October 23, 1938 — March 21, 2009

Asheville Doris was called home to heaven and we werent included in the invitation yet. She had one last stop at Memorial Mission Hospital where God gave her family a miracle. She was asleep, deep in a coma and heard her children calling her back with I love you. She awoke long enough to smile, and tell us I love you more. We are forever thankful for that sweet moment that our Savior gave us. On Saturday morning after a full week in ICU, Doris went home to heaven to meet her parents Annie Blazer Ball and Roy William Ball. Her late husband Don, and their son Wayne were there also to meet her. She is having a wonderful time getting to know her little grandson Jeremy. For truly home she is, and some day we will join her as she would be the first to include all of you. She would tell you, there is no housing shortage, plenty of space available, and love abounds for all. Doris is survived by her children: Beverly and Larry Murray, Susan and Lewis Hensley, Kathy and Jeff Andrews, David and Janet Capps, Chuck Dowdy, Kristi Capps, and the late Wayne Capps. Grandchildren: Heather and Eric Capps, Christopher Treadway, Kerra Bray, Amber Hensley, Garrett and Ian Andrews, Crystal and Michael Capps, Michelle Robinson, and Nicole and Chase Dowdy. Great Grandchildren: Madison and Destiny Robinson, and Noah Smith. Siblings Jerry Ball with wife Ernestine and sisters Brenda Southerland, husband Jerry and Sandra Lee, husband Myung Geun and many much loved nieces and nephews. We would be remiss not to include her much loved pets. Doris had a love for arts and crafts and her art blessed many people. She had a business at the Asheville Farmers Market for 15 years. Services will be held Thursday March 26th at 2 P.M. at Sunrise Baptist Church where Doris was a member. Rev. Mark Penley and Rev. Bill Higgins will be officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with Chris Treadway, Garrett Andrews, Brandon Willis, Eric Capps, Jeff Southerland, Justin Sellers, Pat Remedies and Phillip Rhodes serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at the home of Kathy and Jeff Andrews at 152 Castlerock Drive in Asheville following the service. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Nurses, Doctors and Staff of the Neuro-Trauma ICU for your extreme care and compassion for our Mom.
