Donna Lolita Rupright Harp

Donna Lolita Rupright Harp, age 64, entered into peace on Oct. 27, 2013, with her family by her side. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, on Aug. 13, 1949, she was raised in Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach and Destin. Donna married her high school sweetheart, Gary K. Harp, and together with their two sons, lived in Washington, D.C., England, Spain, Pensacola, Panama Canal Zone, Hawaii and Jacksonville while Gary served in the U.S. Navy. They returned to Fort Walton Beach where she eventually retired after 21 years as a dental assistant. In 2007, they moved to Candler, N.C., where she dedicated herself to her husband and two grandsons. Preceded in death by her parents, Nellie Hudson Smith and Robert Smith; her daughter, Angela DeEtte Harp; her mother-in-law, Gladys Harp; and nephew, Jonathan McDaniel. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary; sons, Bryon (Melanie) Harp and Jason (Bella) Harp; grandchildren, Dyess Harp and Braeden Harp; brother, Eddie (Susan) Rupright; father-in-law, Jack Harp; brother-in law, Lindsey (Glenda) Harp; sisters-in-law, Jackie (Robert) Ochampaugh, Hope (Jeff) Cook, Ruth (Scott) Solomon, and Sherry (Mike) McCullough; and many nieces and nephews. Donna was a loving and joyful person confident in her redemption in Christ, full of energy and zeal for life. She was loved by all her knew her. She fought cancer for many years and was always extremely positive and a hero to many for her strength and determination. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Evangelistic Centre, 101 1st Street SE Fort Walton Beach. The service will be officiated by Pastor Tim Black with a visitation immediately following in the Fireside Room.
