Donalee Hicks

Asheville Donalee Taylor Hicks, 101, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge. A native of Waldron, MI, Mrs. Hicks had resided in Buncombe County since 1962, and was a member of Asheville Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late William and Mabel Smith Taylor, and the wife of Lewis D. Hicks, who passed away in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald Hicks, and her sister, Marvel White. Surviving are her children: Ronald Hicks and wife Betty, Bonnie Hicks and Connie Young and husband Sherman; brother, Gene Taylor; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday in Green Hills Cemetery with Joe Greer officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 11:30 AM Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
