Donald Reemes Plemmons

Leicester Donald Reemes Plemmons, 68, of 15 Wild Berry Lane, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at Emerald Ridge Health and Rehab Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Plemmons was the former owner and operator of Mitchell Auto Sales, Inc. and was associated with Appalachian Auto Sales, specializing mainly with Subaru Automobiles. He attended Newfound Baptist Church and Corinth Baptist Church. He served in the US Army Reserves and was very active in the Republican Party. Mr. Plemmons was the son of the late David Mitchell and Maggie Joan Treadway Plemmons. He was also preceded in death by a nephew. Surviving are his wife, Georgia Taylor Plemmons, whom he married April 5, 1969, of the home; son, Mitch Plemmons of Leicester; brother, David Skip Plemmons and wife Nancy of Leicester; sisters: Ann West and husband Mike of Randleman, NC and Brenda Ephland and husband Mike, of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at Newfound Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ricky Townsend and Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Snelson Cemetery, Leicester. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
