Donald Reed

Fairview Donald Ray Reed, 58, of 1294 Charlotte Hwy, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2016. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a self employed carpenter and formerly had served with Fairview and Reynolds Volunteer Fire Departments and was a honorary member of South Asheville Baptist Church. Mr. Reed was a son of the late Ernest Leroy Reed and Peggy Wright Reed and was the husband of Jeanette Wright Reed who died August 19, 1990. Surviving are his brother, Rev. Norris Wright and wife Charlotte of Fairview; nieces, Beth Grooms and husband Leroy of Fairview and Chrissy Van Dover and husband Mike of Sumter, SC; great nephews, Brent Grooms and wife Brittany, Seth and Ethan Grooms; numerous cousins, including Dwight Wright and wife Traci, Gail LaBerge and husband Bob and Bill Dycus and wife Becky and special friends, Chris and Linda. Memorial services will be held at 7 PM Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the South Asheville Baptist Church with his brother and pastor, Rev. Norris Wright officiating.
