Donald E. Buckner

Asheville - Donald Elbert Buckner, 72, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He attended Harvest Time Assembly. Mr. Buckner was the son of the late Huey and Evelyn Buckner and husband of the late Doris Buckner. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Redden. Surviving are his son, Jimmy Buckner and wife Karlya of Leicester; daughter, Joyce Ogles and husband Gary of Mills River; grandsons, James Paul Buckner and Steven and Ben Ogles; granddaughters, Vanna and Anne Buckner and Sara Ogles; 4 great grandchildren and his beloved kitty. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Cuevas, Rev. Darrell McClaren and Rev. Gwen Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
