Robbinsville – Donald “Don” Phillips, 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Oaks at Sweeten Creek in Asheville. A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Henry and Ethel Roberts Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nettie Adams Phillips; son, Coy Phillips; brothers: Herbert Phillips, and Emmett Phillips; sisters: Jessie Mae Grindstaff, Bunavee Carpenter, Alowayne Smith and Patty Sue Phillips. Surviving are his wife, Reba Phillips; step-daughter, Serina Diane Goldsmith of Gastonia; brothers: Alvin Phillips, and James Phillips; and his sisters: Ann Keith and Edna Cox; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Carver Cemetery, Long Hungry Road, Robbinsville, NC, with Revs. Scott Roper and James Phillips officiating.
