Dixie Revis Brisco

Asheville Dixie Victoria Revis Brisco, 94, of 1 Battle Square, passed away Monday, September 25, 2006 at Beckys Rest Home following a short illness. A native of Buncombe County and resident most of her life. She and her husband owned and operated grocery stores in Buncombe, Madison and Polk Counties. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Brisco was the daughter of the late James Franklin Revis and Aurora Elizabeth Roberts Revis and the wife of George V. Brisco who died in 1981. Surviving are her nieces, Elizabeth Revis Tweed and Naomi Mull both of Asheville; nephews, Fred Cothran of Asheville, Dempsey Cothran of Greer, SC and Rev. Bill Revis of St. Cloud, FL; and several great nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Averys Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Revis officiating. Friends may visit at Anders-Rice Funeral Home until the service hour.
