Dianne Ball

Asheville - Dianne Black Ball, 65, of Asheville, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at her home. A native of McDowell County, Mrs. Ball had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was the daughter of Espie Rom Black and the late Virginia Alice Barnes Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Lee Ball, Sr.; and sister, Carolyn Jefferys. In addition to her father, surviving are her children: James Lee Ball, Jr. and wife Michelle, Tammy Roberts and husband Tommy, and Tony Ball; grandchildren: Stephanie Downey, Brittney Penley, Jordan Ball, and Amanda Crowder; great-grandson, Tristan Lee Downey; and brothers: Cliff and Morris Stewart. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Honeycutt Cemetery in Burnsville. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday at the funeral home.
