Deputy Curt Cole

Leicester Curtis Raymond Curt Cole, 67, passed away on Thursday May 17, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. He was a native of Northville, Michigan and had resided in Buncombe County since the early 70s. Deputy Cole retired in 2005 as a Master Deputy with the Buncombe County Sheriffs Department where he served since 1976 and continued with the department following his retirement as an active Reserve Deputy until his death. Prior to his law enforcement career he was formerly in the Automotive Industry. He was a son of the late Ralph Wesley and Marion Louise Everett Cole. Surviving are his daughter, Michelle Lynn Cole Liddell of La Mesa, CA; brother, Eugene W. Cole and wife, Patricia of Novi, Michigan; nieces, Janet, Joyce and Judy; great nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Shawn, Brandon, Jacob, James, Amy, Kristin, Austin and Zachary; very special friend, Kathryn Capps, her daughter, Kimberly and family and a host of friends, including his Law Enforcement Family. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Monday, May 21, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Chaplain Richard R. Baird, BCSD and Captain Lee Farnsworth, Retired BCSD officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Buncombe County Sheriffs Office Honor Guard to provide honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville NC 28813.
