Dennis Lee Haney

Asheville - Dennis Lee Haney, 53, of 109 Alabama Ave. died Tuesday October 14, 2008 at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Asheville, he had been employed with the Biltmore Estate for 28 years. He was a son of Joyce Bernice Ramsey Haney of Asheville and the late Carrol Haney. Surviving in addition to his mother are his sisters, Nancy Riedel and husband William R. of Weaverville, Jeannie Hargis and husband David of Candler and Gale Schultz of Asheville; brother, Michael Haney of Asheville; niece, Krista Dockery and husband Michael of Weaverville and nephews, Daniel Hargis and Timothy Schultz both of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. David Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Piney Mountain UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
