Dennis Alexander

Elizabethton, TN – Dennis Carl Alexander, 67, formerly a longtime resident of West Asheville, passed away following a short illness at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN early Thursday morning, June 25. A native and resident most of his life of Buncombe County, he graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School, Class of 1971 and Asheville Buncombe Community College, and was a retired antique dealer. He had resided in Elizabethton, TN since last year. Mr. Alexander, born June 17, 1953, was the son of the late Coy Gordon Alexander and the late Kathleen Mary Reese Alexander, both of Asheville. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bronson Keith Alexander and a sister, Mary Katherine Alexander, both of Asheville and lifelong partner, Walter Bond “Walt” Michael, Jr. of West Asheville. Surviving are his sisters, Carolyn Faye McLemore of Louisville, TN, Sharon Annette Alexander of Asheville and Rebecca Doreen Briggs of Mills River; brothers, Donald Jerry Alexander of Asheville, William Eugene Alexander of Canton and Douglas Coy Alexander of Ellenboro and numerous nephews and nieces. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Monday, June 29, 2020, at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Branton Burleson officiating.
