Leicester - Della Payne Sluder, 84, of 200 Morgan Branch Road died unexpectedly Saturday, December 25, 2004 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, she was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Ball Brothers Corp. She was a loving wife, mother and Mamaw and she loved sewing & quilting, gospel singing and going to church. Mrs. Sluder was the daughter of the late Thomas and Zora Frisbee Payne and was the wife of the late Donald Sluder who died April 21, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Sluder, grandson, Robert McCracken, great granddaughter, Nikkie Sluder and sisters, Virginia Stepp, Geneva Sexton and Lucille Sexton. Surviving are her daughters, Joy Cipar and husband Dale of Leicester, Kay McCracken and husband David of Asheville and Melinda Morgan and husband Webb of Leicester; son, Wayne Sluder and wife Kathryn of Leicester; sister, Edith Cooper of Candler; grandchildren, Karen Candler, Autumn Radcliff, Josh Cipar, Amy Cipar, Jeff and Tony Sluder; great grandchildren, Kassie McCracken, Mark & Jennifer Sluder and Kacey Sluder. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Michael Scroggs and Ralph Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mtn. View Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Autumn Radcliff, 209 Morgan Branch Rd., Leicester.
