Dawn Boone

Asheville – Dawn Embler Boone, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Delores Embler. She was also preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Blanche McIntyre; and brother, Samuel “Fred” Embler. Dawn loved the Lord and her family. As an Antique Dealer she was also passionate about finding treasures. She graduated from Erwin High School. Surviving are her son, Gavin Prentice Boone and wife Jessica of Candler; ex-husband, John Roger Boone of Asheville; grandchildren: Libby Marie Boone, Joel Gabe Boone, Gavin Keegan Boone, Amber Nicole Boone, Brittany Paige Boone, and Kyle Christopher Boone; great-grandchildren: Aiden Kirchberg, Evan Kirchberg, Charlie Kirchberg, Lillian Stephan, and Annabelle Stephan; sisters: Sandra Lynn Davenport and husband Ronnie of Morganton, and Pamela Ann Lanius and husband Lonnie of Nashville, TN; brother, Joel Craig Embler of Asheville; half-brother, Rusty Jarrett of Wilmington; and seven beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
