David Eugene Redden

Asheville - David Eugene Redden, 51, of 19 Race Path Way, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 13, 2008 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a veteran of the US Air Force. Mr. Redden was the son of Don Buckner of Asheville and the late Doris Redden Buckner. In addition to his father, he is survived by his step-mother, Jackie Buckner; brother, James Buckner and wife Karlya; and sister, Joyce Ogles and husband Gary. Mr. Redden was the proud uncle of Vanna, Anne Marie, and James Buckner; step-uncle to Sara, Ben, and Steven Ogles; and great-uncle to Briannah and Lillea. Also in his life was a very special lady who has stood by his side, the love of his life, Kathy Owenby. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Tweeds Chapel Cemetery, with the Rev. Darrell McLaren officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Fuenral Home. Flowers are accepted and appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
