Cyril Blinderman

May 18, 1921 — February 24, 2010

ASHEVILLE Cyril Skid Blinderman, 88, of 112 Baity Drive passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Bismarck, ND, he resided in Miami, FL for nine years prior to moving to Buncombe County in 1965. He retired in 1985 from the Asheville VA Medical Center where he served as the Respiratory Therapist. He was well known in the community with his daily 6 to 10 mile walks on Patton Avenue in West Asheville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII and Korean War. Mr. Blinderman was a son of the late John and Rebecca Feinstein Blinderman and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sue Blinderman as well as nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Alice Margaret Daehler Blinderman; daughter, Lori Anne Blinderman; sister, Ethel Hahn and brother, Morton Blinderman. Memorial services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Chaplain James Garrison officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the funeral home.
