Candler Curtis Baldwin Shoff, 64, of 7 Fairfield Terrace went to be with his Lord Friday, September 22, 2017. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County he was a son of Edward B. Shoff, Jr. and Marian Baldwin Shoff of Biltmore Forest. He attended Ben Lippen School and was a 1971 graduate of T.C. Roberson High School and a graduate of Northwood Institute for Automotive Marketing in Michigan. Curtis was former Vice-President and Sales Trainer at Skyland Oldsmobile for many years and the past few years was owner & operator of the Bermuda Triangle Scuba. He was a Mason and member of the Mt. Herman Masonic Lodge # 118 A.F. & A.M. where he had served as Past Master, was a member and a two time Past President of the Asheville-West Rotary Club and had served as an Assistant District Governor in District 7670, (2010-2011). Curtis loved his Carolina Basketball and the Green Bay Packers. He was an avid race car fan and former race car driver with track records and wins at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Chimney Rock Hill Climb. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife of 22 years Diana DeBord Shoff of the home; brother, Edward B. Eddie Shoff & wife, Brenda of Fairview and their children, Candace Arguelles and husband, Albert of Candler and their children, (Drake & Ella), Lily Shoff and Michael Shoff both of Fairview; father-in-law, Bill DeBord of Candler; sisters-in-law, Brenda Fitz of Knoxville, TN and her children, (Greg and Kelley) and Beverly Holland and husband, Jack of Canton and their sons, (Mike, Matt and Sam). Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with his father, Edward B. Shoff, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
