Asheville Clyde Samuel Heatherly, 83, of 43 East Porter Road, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Henderson County, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1983 and retired from Steelcase in 1989. He was a member of Tracy Grove Baptist Church, a member of the VFW Post #5402 in Hendersonville and was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Mr. Heatherly was a son of the late Mack Lawrence Heatherly, Sr. and Della Mae Hyder Haynes. Surviving are his wife, Essie Faye Bailey Heatherly of the home; sons, Ricky Heatherly and wife Patricia and Ronnie Heatherly and wife Valina all of Saluda; daughter, Vicki Lynn Morgan and husband Stanley of Hendersonville; step sons, David W. Robinson, Jr. and wife Tammy and Dale Robinson and partner Debra all of Asheville; brother, Lloyd Haynes and wife Joyce of Mill Spring and grandchildren, Bryan and Allan Heatherly, Shelly Anders, Colby and Kyle Morgan, Matthew Pressley, Scott, Amanda, D.J. and Dakota Robinson and Colton Smith; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, December 19, 2014 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Richard Merck officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the cemetery.
