Clifford Sr. Bailey

Leicester Clifford Leroy Bailey, Sr., 68, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the CarePartners John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Bailey worked as a mechanic for both his father and his brother. He was also a truck driver at various times through the years. He was a member of Inanda Baptist Church, and liked to golf. Mr. Bailey never met a stranger, and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to laugh at almost anything. Mr. Bailey was the son of the late Paul King and Elsie Viola Kates Bailey. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Gail Bailey. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Love Bailey; son, Clifford L. Bailey, Jr. and husband Doug Speeckaert; four step-children; sisters: Colleen Creason and husband Doug, and Sarah Robinson; brother, Richard Bailey and wife Ann; and seven nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry House and Rev. Caleb Curtis officiating.
