Charles Richard Raines

Candler Charles Richard Raines, 34, of 21 Brookside Circle passed away Saturday, October 1, 2005 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Charles was employed with Phillips Roofing Co. and was a former member of the Asheville Church of God of Prophecy He was a grandson of the late Jimmy Skelton and Ralph Bradford and the great grandson of the late Jeanette Banks. Surviving are his parents, Charles Michael Raines and Martha Jean Brinkley Raines of Asheville; daughter, Melissa Dawn Raines of Asheville; brother, David Michael Raines of Asheville; grandmothers, Dorothy Skelton of Asheville and Edna Bradford of Marshall; niece, April Raines of Asheville; nephews, Mitchell Conner of Asheville and Adam Conner of Canton and Charles' girlfriend, Robin Hunnicutt of Candler. Memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Monday at the Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Rolf Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the church and at other times will be at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michael Raines, 27 McKinney Rd., Asheville.
