Charles Hilliard Sprouse Sr.

Fairview - Charles Hilliard Sprouse, Sr., 85, of 3016 Cane Creek Rd. died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Park Ridge Hospital, Fletcher. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County, was a US Army Air Corp veteran, serving during WW II, and was retired from the VA Hospital in Oteen. Mr. Sprouse was the son of the late Joseph Calvin and Zinnie McKinnish Sprouse. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Louise Gillespie Sprouse. Surviving are his wife, Mary Sue Sprouse; son, Hilliard Sprouse and wife Janis of Asheville; grandson, Joel Sprouse and wife Dana of Fletcher; granddaughter, Kimberly Sprouse Terry and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Mallory and Miranda Sprouse, and Megan and Dustin Terry. Military graveside rites will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Scroggs and the Buncombe County Veterans Council/Volunteer Memorial Team officiating.
