Asheville - Cecil Reeves Trexler, 65, of 60 Fairfax Ave., died Friday, March 4, 2005 at the Magnolia Health Care Center following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County and a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. He was an avid builder of R/C model cars, planes and boats. He also loved cooking and working in his rose bushes. Mr. Trexler was a retired firefighter with the Asheville Fire Department and was a US Navy veteran. He attended Asheville Wesleyan Church. He was the son of the late Lawrence Benjamin Trexler, Jr. and Evelyn Reeves Trexler. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Clinton Trexler. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Huntsman Trexler of the home; his daughter, Teresa Lynn Trexler of Fairview; four grandchildren; his sister, Kathy Stewart and husband Harold of Greenville, SC; his brother, Lawrence Benjamin Trexler, III of Candler; and his niece, Ginger Todd, and nephew, Ricky Todd, both of South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Julian Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Reeves Chapel UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
