Cecil Eugene Sheppard

Cecil Eugene Sheppard, 62, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of Violet Irene Palmer Sheppard of Alexander and the late Thad Charles Sheppard. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Tolley, and brother, Charles Sheppard. Cecil had a big heart, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 24 years, Patricia Lynn Hopkins Sheppard; sons: Luke Sheppard of Canton, and Michael Sheppard of Leicester; daughter/granddaughter, Jazmin Sheppard-Cliff of Leicester; grandchildren: Brooke, Cameron, and Cayden; sister, Pamela Sheppard Tochterman and husband Bryan of Alexander; sister-in-law, Paula Moore and husband Dave; nieces: Ashley, Amber, Kimberly, Anita, Sarina, and Salina; nephews: Little Gene, Bryan, Jr., Jesse, Colby, and Emileo. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daryl Overton officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 till 6 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
