Catherine Bush

Weaverville Catherine Red Pate Bush, 78, of 1 Wildwood Avenue, went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 10, 2017 at her residence. A native of Yancey County, she had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly employed with A-B Emblem for over 30 years and later retired after many years with Swisartex. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to shop and read. Mrs. Bush was the daughter of the late Perry Franklin Frank Pate and Fannie Victoria Wilson Pate and was the wife of Herbert Clayton Bush who died November 19, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Althea Pate Bush and Dorothy Pate Froste; brothers, Molt, R.B., Alvin, Dewey, Lloyd and Hiram Pate. Surviving are her daughter, Pamela Bush McIntyre of Weaverville; son, Roger L. Bush and wife Tonya of Asheville; grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson and husband Caleb of Mars Hill, Stephanie Metcalf and husband Bo of Hendersonville, Steven and Michael Bush both of Asheville, Jamie Brickler and husband Andy of Middletown, OH and Jerica McIntyre of Charlotte. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
