Carolyn Jean Sheehan

Asheville Carolyn Jean Burgin Sheehan, 70, of 129 Marietta Street passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at St. Josephs Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She formerly served as a Nurses Aide at Pine Forest Nursing Home, formerly attended Biltmore Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Mrs. Sheehan was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Boyd and Emma Inez Greene Burgin and wife of the late Willie Clarence Sheehan who died in 1963. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Herila & husband, Mike of Asheville; granddaughter, Samantha Herila, in the U.S. Navy stationed in Everette, WA; brothers, Bill Burgin & wife, Darcelle and Jack Burgin & wife, Becky all of Asheville; Aunt, Elizabeth Ruth Collins of Ormond Beach, FL; niece, Amy Fite & husband, Neal; great niece, Harmony Livingston, great nephew, Christopher Livingston and faithful companion, her dog Duke. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M.
