Carl Lloyd Mcconnell

Carl Lloyd McConnell, 85, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Lake Toxaway, he was a son of the late William McKinley McConnell and Mary Nan Prather McConnell. He was also preceded in death by his daughters: Cathy McConnell and Betty Sue McConnell; sister, Thelma Lance; and brothers: Claude McConnell, Frank McConnell, Gene McConnell, and Dennis McConnell. Mr. McConnell was a custom furniture builder for Sara Scott Furniture Company in Skyland. He enjoyed listing to Bluegrass Gospel Music, and was an avid hunter, fisherman and all around sportsman. Surviving are his loving wife, Margaret Webb McConnell; children: Debra McConnell Coleman, Don Carlton McConnell and wife Robin Lindsey, Roger Dale McConnell, Adam Christopher McConnell and wife Felicia, and Heather Lynn McConnell, all of Asheville; brother, ODean McConnell of Pisgah Forest; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Reeves Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, 225 Sardis Rd, with Rev. Dale Whitson officiating. The family will receive friends following services on Tuesday at the home, 120 Baity Drive, Asheville, NC 28806.
