Asheville James Hugh C.D. Worley, 72, of 26 Baldwin Street, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 17, 2014 at his home. A native of Henderson County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life and retired in 2005 with Buncombe County School System Maintenance Department. He was a member of Reed Memorial Baptist Church where a member of the Mens Bible Class and did various maintenance and work around the church, was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Mr. Worley was a son of the late Thurman Hugh Worley and Ruby Jane Hoglen Worley. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Renee S. Perrigan and brothers, Kenneth and Jack Worley. Surviving are his wife whom he married May 26, 1990, Joanna Varee S. Worley of the home; sons, Jimmie Worley (Tracie) of Black Mountain, Roger Worley (Nicole) of Pinehurst, Mitchel Swayngim (Deanna) of Arden and Ricky Perrigan of Asheville; daughter, Tonya Smith (Dean) of Raleigh; 12 grandchildren including Cheryl and Adam Cutshall of Arden; brother, Wayne Worley (Jeanette) of Leicester and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Reed Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Melton officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery.
