Bud Brown

Newport, TN Bedford Smith Bud Brown, III, 60, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, he had resided in Eastern Tennessee the past several years. He was a member of Swannsylvania Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran in Vietnam. Mr. Brown is a son of Sarah Lenox Hagan of Fairview and the late Bedford Smith Brown, Jr. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Joyce Hill Brown of the home; son, David Brown of Fayetteville; 4 step children; brothers, William & Robert; 3 nieces and 3 nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Thursday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Mike Hensley and Rev. H.L. Wilson officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Buncombe County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
