Candler Brittany Nicole Hampton, 18, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile wreck. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a proud mother of her unborn son, Tristan Samuel Hampton. She was a member of Gods Filling Station and had been a member of the Enka High School JROTC for four years. She was a daughter of Rodney Leonard Hampton of Dandridge, TN and Angela Jean Earley Hampton of Canton. Surviving in addition to her parents are her sister, Samantha Ann Hampton of Candler; paternal grandparents, Marsha and Troy Hampton of Candler; maternal grandparents, Linda and Ray Cox of Arden; maternal grandfather, Jerry Cox of Bluff City, TN; maternal step grandfather, Ray Christopher of Madison County; maternal great grandparents, Barbara and Joe Brendle of Leicester; aunts, Melissa Hampton of Candler, Linda Allen and husband Wade of Alexander and Kelly Davidson and husband Phil of Green Valley, AZ; uncles, Robby Hampton and wife Tonya of Asheville, Keith Allen of Alexander, Richard Allen of Marshall, Ray Christopher, Jr. and wife Brandi of Watertown, NY and Chris Christopher and wife Megan of Asheville and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Gods Filling Station with Pastor Steve Brockwell and Lt. Colonel Mick Dove of the Enka High School Jr ROTC officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Independent Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with an honor guard provided by the Enka High School Jr ROTC.
