Bonnie T. Sluder

April 4, 1908 — February 11, 2007

Asheville - Bonnie Towe Sluder, 98, of 2400 Appalachian Blvd., Arden and formerly of 7 Hillview Rd., went to be with her Lord Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and resident most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church, which was her life, where for many years she taught Sunday School and sung in the church choir. She retired after 40 years of service from Southern Bell as a Supervisor and Assistant Chief Long Distant Operator. She was the daughter of the late John Fletcher Towe and Nora Lee Frady Towe, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carroll A. Sluder and her daughter, Wanda Robinson. She is survived by her three grandchildren: Bruce M. Robinson and wife Pat of Asheville, Barbra R. Ball and husband David of Asheville and Richard L. Robinson and wife Tammy of Arden; two great-grandchildren: Tony Ball and Kelly Ball, both of Asheville and sister, Mrs. Roy Robbie Luckadoo of Arden. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen and Rev. Jim Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Churchyard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Heather Glen at Ardenwoods for their love and devotion to Bonnie.
