Bobby Joe Benson Sr.

Asheville - Bobby Joe Benson, Sr,. was rewarded for his faith in Jesus on January 10, 2008, when he went home to be with his Savior. A minister since 1991, he praised his Lord in his last breaths. Bobby is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Sandra. He is also survived by his mother Thelma while preceded in death by his father Horace and his brother Donnie. Bobby is also survived by his children, Bobby Benson, Jr,. Bryan Benson and wife Kim and Vickie Dover and husband Bryan as well as his grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Caitlyn and Ryan Benson and Madelyn and Colton Dover. Surviving Bobby also are sisters, Jean Jones and her husband Russell and Linda Towe as well as numerous other family members. Bobby enjoyed playing his guitar, working on cars, spending time with his family and praising his Lord. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Revs. Homer Moore, Betty Drake and Larry Nix officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family greatly appreciates the staff at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center for their care during Bobbys extended illness.
