Asheville - Robert Edward Bob Travaglini, 77, of 71 Hornot Circle, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Emerald Ridge following a courageous battle with Alzheimers disease. Bob was a native of Hopedale, MA and had moved to Asheville in 1965. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Air Force, was a graduate of Asheville-Buncombe Technical College and a Communicant of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Bob retired from Sky City Stores, where he was a department manager for many years, after retirement, he worked as a host for Denny's restaurant on Patton Avenue. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Stempson Travaglini; son, Robert Edward Travaglini II; parents, Fortunato and Emma (Piccioli)Travaglini; sisters, Dina Leone and Eleanor Lombardo; and brother-in-law, Irvin (Corky) Stempson II. Surviving are sons, Joseph Curtis Travaglini and wife, Rebecca of Denver, CO and Christopher Michael Travaglini and wife, Michele of Asheville; his beloved grandchildren, Joshua, Christian, Jacob, Hannah and Aaron; sister in law, Mrs. Susan Stempson Cox (Steve) of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother in law, Robert Stempson of Athens, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Stempson of Nashville, TN; niece, Wendy Dye(Scott) of Watkinsville, GA; nephews, Christopher Stempson (Michelle)of Lebanon, TN and Michael Love of Yulee, FL; nephew and God-son, Arthur Stephen Cox (Suzanne)of Los Alamos, NM and God-children Arthur Stephen Cox III, Brandon and Robin Cox all of Los Alamos, NM. Memorial Graveside services will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Father Alex Hanks officiating.
