Blanche Elizabeth Tweed

October 24, 1945 — April 13, 2007

Weaverville Blanch Elizabeth Tweed, 61, of 9 Ralph Lunsford Road, passed away Friday, April 13, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she worked as a seamstress at the Vanderbuilt Shirt Company, and was a member of The Gospel Tabernacle. Mrs. Tweed was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Mildred Hollifield Tweed. Surviving are her four children: James Grayson Hensley of Asheville, Charles Eugene Hensley, Jr. and wife Shelly of Weaverville; Frank Lee Hensley of Weaverville, and Tina Carol Hensley of Asheville; brother, Billy Tweed of Asheville; 22 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday at the Gospel Tabernacle, with the Rev. Eugene Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in the Gospel Tabernacle Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
