Candler - Bill W. Gentry, 67,of 14-A Heather Way died unexpectantly Friday, June 11, 2004 at Memorial Mission Hospital. Mr. Gentry was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He was Owner & Operator of Erwin Hills Electric, former member of Victory Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and member of the WNC Classic Cruisers. He was the son of the late Herman And Gladys Spivey Gentry. Surviving are his wife, Deanna Laster Gentry of the home; sons, Tony Gentry and wife, Rhonda of Alexander and Tim Gentry and wife, Darlene of Asheville; grandchildren, Cody Gentry, Logan Gentry and Dannett Dillingham; great grandchildren, Brandon and Brady Dillingham; sisters, Betty Hall of Atlanta, GA, Doris Jones and Joyce Nemeic both of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Bill Michael Jones and Rev. Carter Pounders officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Asheville High J.R.O.T.C.. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
