Asheville Betty Maxine Williams Collins, 79, of 384 Merrimon Avenue passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County. Mrs. Collins was former Co-Owner & Operator of Grace T.V. She was also a former Executive Administrator Assistant for the Asheville Chamber of Commerce and was previously employed with Wachovia Bank. Mrs. Collins was a member of the Women of the Moose of the Marion Moose Lodge and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Alyne Ingle Young and wife of Charles Thomas Tommy Collins who died June 21, 1995. Surviving are her son, Gordon Thomas Collins of Asheville; daughter, Tanya Collins Gosnell and husband Jerry of Alexanader; grandchildren, Eric Collins, Carrie Gosnell, Justinee Gosnell, Kirstie Collins and Tyler Gosnell; great grandchildren, Jordan, Lakota, Robert and Autumn; sisters, Pat Justice of Black Mountain and Rita Hudson of Winterville; several nieces and nephews; special friends whom she considered her daughter and son, Bea and Mike Luecke; lifelong friends, J.T. and Nancy Reynolds and their families, a host of friends and the joy of her life, her dog Pierre. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Haynes officiating. Burial will follow Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 31 College Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
