Betty Suttle Zimmerman

Asheville - Betty Joyce Suttle Zimmerman, 83, of 279 Bear Creek Road passed away April 13, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She retired in 1984 from Bell South Corporation following 25 years of service, where at the time of her retirement worked in the Engineering Department, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the Telephone Pioneers Association and was a devoted wife and loving mother. Mrs. Zimmerman was a daughter of the late Oliver Charles Suttle and Hazel Lee Suttle and wife of Wilburn Edward Ed Zimmerman who died April 25, 2004. Surviving are her sons, Philip Zimmerman & wife Fran of Brevard, Michael Zimmerman & wife Mary of Waxhaw, Patrick Zimmerman & wife Susie of Matthews and Jeffrey Zimmerman of Asheville and his fiancee Teresa Trent of Morristown, TN; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joshua, Nicholas, Scott & Katherine; sister, Louise Phipps & husband Thomas of Farmington, MI. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. William Bill McMahon officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
