Fletcher - Betty S. Taylor, 65, of 55 Forest Berry Road, passed away Monday, November 8, 2004 at her residence after a short but courageous battle with cancer. A native of Buncombe County, she was a member of the Haywood Street United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher and as a member of the Administrative Board. Mrs. Taylor was a former president of the PTA in the Asheville City School District, and was the co-owner of Taylors Distributing Company. She was the daughter of the late Albert Bradford and Pauline Thomas Plemmons. Surviving are her husband of fifty years, Frank Eugene Taylor, whom she married on January 6, 1955; her four daughters and son-in-law: Tami and Mike Bryant of Weaverville, Melinda and Andy Condrey of Spartanburg, SC, Angela and JD Heckhausen of Asheville, and Frankie and Charles McMurray of Hendersonville; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cecil Hayes officiating. Pallbearers will be LB (Burt) Anderson, Joe Bugg, Tony Hensley, Donald Rickman, Fred Smith, and Tommy Walter. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11-12:30 Thursday at the funeral home, and after the services at the home of her daughter, Angela Heckhausen, 262 Mt. Carmel Road, Asheville.
